Once upon a time and a long time ago, I was a software engineer/web developer and artist.
Now, I'm an author who lives in Manhattan where I write
and occasionally teach speculative fiction writing. I'm a British-Jamaican American,
born in London and raised in Cambridge, MA.
And also once I owned and operated an independent bookstore called Indigo Café & Books. I have a Master's in Creative Writing from the Stonecoast MFA Program and a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Engineering (Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Visual Art) from Boston University. I've published short stories and poems in a variety of venues. My first novel Elysium received the Philip K. Dick Special Citation and was a finalist for the Locus and Tiptree Awards. My second novel Destroyer of Light received a starred Kirkus Review and was placed on their list of Best Fiction of the Year. I'm currently working on my next novel Daughters of Night. My literary works are represented by Janklow & Nesbit. Associations
